Deschutes Seasonal -- Jubelale.
Alcohol 6.7%. Very strong hop aroma, mixed with cinnamon and nutmeg. A sprinkling of blueberries and light fruit. First sip is sweet on the tongue and bitter on the finish. Clove essence. Woody. Very oaky almost. Creamy. Spiciness, almost a slight pepper tinge on the bite. The bitterness on the finish lingers nicely, leaving the mouth almost sticky. Toffee. Most of these flavors are essences rather than overt. This tastes great with ham.
Buy if: you can get a hold of it, as it is no longer on the shelf. If one prefers a bitter winter warmer, this is pretty damn good.
Overall verdict: the finish is bitter and it lingers a little too long for my taste, but the beginning scents and the festive beginning works really well.
