Boddington's Cream Ale
Alcohol content 4.7%. The beginning aroma is somewhat fragrant, almost buttery. There is a bit of malt sweetness. The head is large and flowing and it takes forever to go away. The beginning sip is almost without flavor. It takes several beats for the aroma to actually hit your palate. It is not complex, and seems to be a texture beer over a flavor. It is silky and almost like velvet. It is mildly sweet. Unfortunately, it takes only a few minutes for the carbonation and the subsequent flavor to leave. This beer is more innovative than Coors, but only has a little more spice. It doesn't seem to drink like an English Ale.
Buy if: you prefer a texture beer over a flavor beer.
Overall verdict: the creaminess is welcome, but the lack of flavor and the immediacy that drinking this beer requires doesn't give one a chance to thoroughly enjoy.
