Avery's -- Salvation
Alcohol 9%. The aroma is tart and has essence of floral. Rose petals. Pear brandy. Thin head. Dark honey gold coloring. Bready. Cloves. Malty. A tad smack of hops. Nutmeg. Lots of body and flavor with a refreshing after kiss. Like velvet on the tongue. Like nectar. Crisp apple. Warm finish. The beer does lack a very strong finish, instead being subtle. It does lack a complex end bite, but it by no means ruins the experience.
Buy if: you are digging some pizza, and want a strong beer that is both light and refreshing.
Overall verdict: Pleasant and refreshing, candy-coated and smooth, this beer is welcome in both summer and winter.
3.75 out of 5.
