Hopped and Bothered; Stone Old Guardian

Stone -- Old Guardian
Alcohol content 11.1%. Instant thickness when poured. Rich copper and mahogany coloring. Think and dissipating head. Aroma is instantly citrus, grapefruit and caramel. Lots of malt. First sip is bitter, but instantly warms with sweet citrus and chewy malt. Bread flavoring is warming as well. The finish is malty, but bring it back to a tinge of grapefruit sweetness and bitterness. Alcohol is hidden until the end, where it turns boozy. In an awesome way.

Buy if: you feel like a boozy, malty and hoppy brew.

Overall: a very strong alcohol content is hidden beneath chewy bitterness and sticky sweet malt. Although I am not generally a fan of Stone, they outdid themselves here. Congrats.

4 out of 5.
