Hopped and Bothered; Avery Dugana IPA

Avery -- Dugana IPA
Alcohol content 8.5%. The pour reveals a deep amber orange body. Plenty of lacing. Heavy amount of citrus hops. Hint of pine. Kiss of oak. Grapefruit comes through strongly. An alcohol bite as well. The taste is instantly bitter, on front especially. The malt kicks in about midway through, but the hops power over it for a sticky tropical bitter finish. I had this right off the shelf, so the freshness is sublime.

Buy if: you can find it.

Overall: a solid if overly bitter IPA. The taste is complex and offers a lot to chew on.

3.5 out of 5.

  1. i wonder what's more appealing:

    1. the contents; or
    2. the label...
