Hopped and Bothered; Sierra Nevada Narwhal

Sierra Nevada -- Narwhal Imperial Stout
Alcohol content 10.2%. It pours thick and syrupy. No head and minimal carbonation, with glances of mocha lacing. So black it's nearly purple. The smell is rich malt and almost burnt. Clean. Crisp. The taste is instantly complex. Bakers cocoa. A tinge of toffee. Coffee. Orange spices from the hops. Heat from the alcohol. Exquisite. A silky clean finish leaves coffee residue, which you won't find worthy of any complaint.

Buy if: you see this in a 4 pack for roughly ten bucks.

Overall: the orange spices add a lot to the standard coffee/cocoa stout texture. Almost a holiday stout, but stronger and wiser.

4 out of 5.
