Eminem's Rap God, A Brief Review
After the odd beginning, the beat drops. The galloping flow (I'm not experienced with the specific term, but it fills like Em' is leaping while rapping) is stunning, even if you are an Eminem fan. The swirling beat is welcome, if a bit obnoxious and repetitive. Aside from the technical gymnastics present in each verse, the chorus took a few takes in getting used to.
In fact, I think I could do without the chorus as it is presently being replayed on radio. The lack of a guest star (2 Chainz cough) is a nice change of pace.
Overall, aside from a 'meh' chorus, Rap God is a blistering fun track. The zingers about Bill Clinton had me laughing, which is always a nice touch.
